I made a mistake with the pattern. I did the 1x1 ribbing all the way to the heel, so it took me much longer, since ribbing slows me down. Very happy with outcome. Also have some yarn left over.

A little bit of trial and error with the I-cord Cast Off and Horizontal stripe. Didn’t switch needles on account of fingering weight yarn.
it’s little floppy even after blocking, so I sewed felt on the inside of the cups and back of the saucers for a sturdier finish.

I made this Tea Set for my daughter, Emily.

I used assorted left over yarn.

Since in Israel we do not celebrate Haloween. I took this pattern and used it for a basic doll pattern.

Whilst I was on maternity leave a colleague of mine adopted her 2nd daughter and I wanted to give both her daughters a gift. (a few years ago I knitted somethng for the 1st daugther)

I thought matching dollies would be a good idea, and the hair I'll make to match her daughters.

The Dolly is fairly simple. One part of the pattern of both Dolly and Dolly's dress is mine boggling, but I followed it none the less.

I also personalized each doll by embroidering the childs name.

Since I don't have this book, I guessed pattern, it's pretty basic, I’ve made a similar hat before.

She needs full assistance with mobility and communicates with her eyes and her smile. The foundation will help pay for her education and medical expenses as well as help other families living with Polymicrgyria.
The idea is to do beanies first so that we can stock the etsy store with hats just right for the US and UK winter weather. We’ll do a KAL of the matching snail brimmed hats for warmer markets later.
So grab together your left overs or dye up some kiddy bright yarn and get ready for the Feb 1 launch date. Remember that there are some people allergic to wool so some 100% acrylic hats are fine as well.
The patterns are incredibly easy to change around to suit different tensions and head sizes and the snail is based on the age old pinwheel design, simple, quick and so easy to do and upsize.

I’m burning up my stash. Decided to make this hat after I made the Strawberry hat too big and seeing the cute hat Alison from the Blue Blog made, I figured it would be a good way to use what I had left of my Phil’Ruban yarn.
I knit 8 points instead of 9 as that was enough to surrond my daughters head. After doing 1 and a half repeats of the lace pattern I realized it was taking too much time and barely noticeable with this yarn, so I just continued with plain stockinette.
I also knit the crown points in to place by picking up the stitches and knitting together (similar to 3 needle bind off)
Hat fits and is stretchy but I didn’t like the finished out come. Yarn isn’t showing up the crown so well.
I would recommend using contrast colors next time.
I ended up frogging the hat.

I made this for my daughter, following the pattern which is available for free on line.
came out a bit bigger then expected...did not check gauge, I guess it will wait for her to grow in to it. Love how the hat came out.

MIL's Claptois

In my attempt to burn up some stash and also as appreciate to my MIL's efforts, she does help me, I made her a Hanukah gift. A one skein wonder if you will. A Claptois.

I think this is originally a sock yarn, though I couldn't find the label. Since I didn't have enough for the fringe I had to use some other yarn that matched for the fringing. Still I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
Very soft.

This time though I decided to Purl instead of Knit through the Back loop.

I'm not sure I'll make this again. I bought the pattern to make for my daughter...but what I didn't realize when I bought it is that you need to knit the border separately and sew it on...that's a pain.

The yarn wasn’t fun to work with. I do not recomend this yarn. I had to switch to a bigger needle because I didn’t have wooden ones in the required size by the pattern.
That in it self didn't matter, the baby can grow in to it, but the reason I had to do it is that it was only possible to knit this with wooden needles.

Pattern: Garter Stitch Jacket by Debbie Bliss, I decided to adapt it a little, it was knit in stockinete and I also gave it a v neck.

Yarn: Schachenmayr nomotta Aurora, a total of 4 skeins. 2 in cream (20) and 1 each in blue and tuqouis.

Needle US 9 (5.5 mm)

I only had 3 skeins at first, but it's through Ravelry, and how I came to join Ravelry that I was able to obtain an additional skein and the fellow knitter that helped me out didn't even want me to pay her back.

I have enough yarn left over to make a matching hat.

I think this one took up to 2 years to complete. I had run out of yarn and was using stash yarn. It's quite big, and will give my son plenty of years…hell it fits me, only midriff, LOL.
What I'm most happy about is that it was done in time for our holiday in England this year, so my son got to wear it already and it was quite the eye catcher…all and all considering it's more of a patch work cardi, it looks really nice on him.

A couple of years ago I made a teddy cardigan for baby SY who's mother is a colleague. We were horrified to learn this year that SY now 2.6 years old was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Consequently I made her a nice soft hat. The yarn has stretch so it also fits me only is short on me. I think it should fit her nicely, with room to grow. Yes, I had the right gauge…it's the yarn.
Both my son and modeled this hat, but none of the photos came out clear and the one of me is warped. After photos were taken hat was machine washed, dried and wrapped.

or, yes, I feel as goofy as I look (see the last two pics).

As you can see...I had made a way too long I-cord. Pattern called for 10" but I went all the way up to 15" thinking I know better and toattly forgetting, that it's suppose to scrunch the top of the hat up, thierfore no need to be too long...oh well...I frogged it back and re-did the I-cord.

The Green hat is for a 1 year old...but don't worry, just because it fits me doesn't mean it will be too big...this hat has got a lot of give due to the ribbing.

The blue/grey hat is for a 3 year old. (they are the children of an online friend from Minnesota)

Thoughts: Love the pattern would like to make it again. Love the baby cables.

Regrets: though the yarn is fab, it's Merino, it's soft, it's warm...I just don't think it was the right yarb for this project. I think I should have gone on line and ordered the yarn that is used in the pattern or at the very least used a yarn that was the same 'weight' the whole way through. The yarn I used was verigated like Noro is, some parts are thicker and some parts are quite thin.

I should have also used a finer yarn for the I-cord...as you can see it's quite chunky.

Next time for sure I'll get the recomended yarn.

Do you remember the single sock I named ugly? Well, I couldn't let it be this way. I frogged it.
I re-did the sock with a different scok pattern, called Universal toe-up sock formula from Knitty and I must say it has restored my faith in knitting socks!
I'm much happier with the result even if one might have come out longer than the other.

Pattern notes:

When I strated the ankle I joined in Elastic Thread and worked it all the way up to the cast off for extra snugness.

Yarn: Regia Crzay Colors

Needles: bendy dpn's 3.25 mm (I think) from this place and I switch to metal dpn's when I added the elastic.

The last of the baby knits, at least for now. I'm just 'knitted out' of baby things.
(in fact currently i'm focousing on toddlers / young children)
Anyway, about this cardi.
Knit for my collegue "N" 4th child, 3rd daughter, born Aug. 30,2006.
What I had in mind for this cardigan is that it should be with as little sewing as possible. I took inspiration from Debbie Bliss, Quick Baby Knits...what I mean by that, is I used the gauge from one of the patterns in the book, and I decided I wanted a V-Neck...from seeing a different pattern in the book and I combined the two.
However, it was my idea to use K2Tog or SSK for the Vneck whilst maintaining the garter sts edge and it was my idea to slip the 1 st when I got the sleeve part BECAUSE I wanted it to be easier to be picked up later.
so, Front and Back where knit in one. Sleves where picked up with ADDI turbo and knitted down as stright sleeves...couldn't be bothered with shaping.
To keep the cardi from being borring, I was also inspired by a pattern found on Knitty, called ???? for the lace at the bottom.

Felted Clutch

for the 2nd project I made for the OneSkien knitalong I used a local Israeli yarn by TeddysWool, 100% wool which I was told by the LYS owner that it felts nicely. She even showed me a sample of the felting, however, I wasn't happy with how mine felted. It had to go in the washer at least 5 times and it still doen't look like what she showed me. The clutch is quite small since it wasn't a very chunky yarn so I used 4.5 mm Addis and it shrunk quite a bit...I don't really know what i'll use it for.
I finished knitting it during a commute and my son was so excited that he grabbed it from me and tried it on as he thought it was a hat.

It's a fairly easy patter, save for the picking up sts part. It's really cute too. The only change I made is I added the button and made the button loop from one of the cast off ends. I did't like how it bunched up near the closure but that is probalby due to me not picking up enough sts.

I think this is my best work yet.
Knit with 3mm needles and local Israeli cotton yarn:
TeDdY's Wool: SUPER COTTON in lilac (2 skeins)
and
Heela knitting yarn in white (1 skein)
I was a bit off gauge so I shaved of 10 sts from the pattern and I can't remember how much of the sleeves.
Pattern calls for two buttons, but I only had around the flat and the neck line looks wide enough also.
I carried the yarn along for the stripes.
I really like this sweater, I'd like to make it again, with hopes to adjust the pattern to make for my son in blue and white.
Made for the office CPA who is due to become a daddy for the 1st time in September, they are expecting a girl.

More like, little red riding hoods tunic.

The pattern was taken from hip knits. The photo in the book shows a toddler wearing the biggest size…(I could figure that out by counting the sts on the neck line) perhaps I should have done that.
Pattern alterations that I made: Lost the stripes because this isn't the USA and I wasn't going to spend $12 a skein and have lot's of blue and white left over, I wasn't making that matching had either. I would have made an all-Israeli dress but come on, a predominantly white dress for a 2 year old, I think not.

Also, didn't make the ties, didn't think it practical, instead I knitted the straps and joined with a 3 needle bind off. Because it came out like a tunic I gifted this with a pair of 3/4 cotton trousers to match.

Yarn: Classic Elite – Provence, (2627 french red) 1 skein

Knit w/ Addi Turobo 4mm circs, however not in the round because I didn't have the right length of circs.

Okay, as I was working on Claptois I learned that the my collegues mother was diagnosed with Breast cancer and would have to undergo Chemo, so I thought, I'd also make her mom a hat.

One of the xmas I made this year, a Multidirectional Scarf. The pattern is free by Karen Baumer, to which I thank.
This was knit with Noro - Kureyon, shade #102. , using 1 2/3rd skiens.

Since I have some yarn left over, if we I can fit it in I'm hoping to make a matching hat, though I might have to add some other yarn for that to happen.

Comments:
Didn't follow pattern for sleeves, came out too big. I picked up sts with circs and knitting the sleeves from top to bottom.

The pattern is for a 4 year old and I was right on gauge. My 2nd one I dropped a needle size. At least she'll have good wear out of it.

Since the Ties are a borring to knit...for my 2nd one I used a ribbon.

and also I dropped a needle size and used Crystal Palace bamboo No. 6, this made it less than recomended gauge but better suited for a 2 year old.

The reason I picked up those knitting needle which I hadn't done since I was a wee las...I wanted to make this for my son.
Fireman Bob has been complete for a long time, but it took me a while to get round to embroidering his lips and taking photos, but that's all in the past and here he is in all his glory.
Pattern: Jean Woods and she was very helpful to for any questions. Really nice lady.
Yarn: 100% Acrylic from Australia & 3mm aluminum Needles.
Fireman Bob can be partially undressed also, as I put elastic in the trousers.
His helmet though is sewn on since it's huge.

The finished touches took a while, and I had hiccups at every possible turn with this one, not sure I'll ever use the pattern again.

Yarn: Schoeller Stahl Baby Cotton - 4305 Salmon - 50gr / 100% Cotton (very soft)
Crystal Palace No. 5 bamboo Needles & No. 3 aluminum Needles for ribbing (b/c I didn't have bamboo)

This was one of my first knits after I had finished the fireman doll for my son which begun the trend of any collegue who has a baby, gets a knitted gift...boy, I did not know what I was getting into ;-)
