Umbilical Cord Hat: Craft4aCause KAL for Ayla.

Pattern: Umbilical Cord hat from Stitch 'N Bitch, The knitters hand book.
Yarn: left over of
Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton
Rowan Calmer
Needle: US 6 / 4.0 mm ADDI turbo

Since I don't have this book, I guessed pattern, it's pretty basic, I’ve made a similar hat before.

I made this hat for Ayla's KAL, I read about it on Ravelry.

I'm not sure if you can view this link: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/over-the-fence/496870/1-25
[paste] Ayla is three and has Polymicrgyria. Every item sold by her Rainbow Foundation helps to fund Ayla’s therapy and helps her to attend a Steiner school where she is accepted and embraced. She needs full assistance with mobility and communicates with her eyes and her smile. The foundation will help pay for her education and medical expenses as well as help other families living with Polymicrgyria.
The idea is to do beanies first so that we can stock the etsy store with hats just right for the US and UK winter weather. We’ll do a KAL of the matching snail brimmed hats for warmer markets later.
So grab together your left overs or dye up some kiddy bright yarn and get ready for the Feb 1 launch date. Remember that there are some people allergic to wool so some 100% acrylic hats are fine as well.
The patterns are incredibly easy to change around to suit different tensions and head sizes and the snail is based on the age old pinwheel design, simple, quick and so easy to do and upsize.
